As Miss Howard TV, I represented Sirius XM for the month of March in 2012 where I was interviewed by Jamie Harmeyer, filmed a clip for the Howard Stern Show and had a photo shoot in the Howard Stern Studio. Everyone at Sirius was very professional and great to work with.
I had an amazing time competing in the 2013 Mrs. New Jersey United States pageant at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing, New Jersey. This was my very first pageant as I only entered to help shine light upon the devastated areas that still remain after Hurricane Sandy.
2013 Sisterhood Spirit Award – (This award is presented to the individual that represents the best example of a true sisterhood.) I am very honored to receive the 2013 Sisterhood Spirit Award. This pageant was both very educational and awarding. Having the opportunity to speak on behalf of my hometown and of all the affected areas from Sandy meant a lot not just to myself and my family but to our communities. Hurricane Sandy may be in the past but it is not forgotten. We need to focus on the future and be more prepared for the next one. As long as we are living along the shore we are in the path of mother nature’s next wrath of fire.
If you wish to get involved, please reach out to the Robin Hood Foundation, Restoring The Shore, Hope For Highlands. (to name a few). There are many organizations that are trying to help get our communities back on their feet. We need to stick together and help restore our shore and bring life back to the Garden State.
In conclusion I just want to say that within these last few months, I have met so many amazing people from entering this pageant and would like to thank my family, friends, sponsors and my pageant directors for their support.
Congratulations to the class of 2013, everyone looked amazing and did an outstanding job representing a platform that was dear to their hearts. A special congratulations goes out to my roommate, karaoke partner and pageant sister Joy Jones Carmack – Mrs. New Jersey U.S. 2013. She is an amazing person and I wish her nothing but the best at nationals.
Today marks the six month anniversary of Sandy’s arrival here in the Northeast. This is a reminder of why I entered the Mrs. New Jersey United States Organization pageant, to shine light on the communities being left in the dark. I want them to know that many areas throughout New Jersey are still struggling, trying to rebuild and recover!!! Some only lost power while others lost their belongings, their homes, their businesses and most importantly their hope to move forward.
My grandmother was one of many residents that lost everything. Many did not gather much of their belongings, thinking it would not be as bad as the weatherman were claiming. Well they were right for a change, but we are all sticking together and trying to make the best out of a horrible situation. This has only made us stronger as a community and I am proud to represent my hometown in the Mrs. New Jersey United States pageant. I hope to take home the crown for the opportunity to spotlight my platform on a national level in the Mrs United States pageant in Vegas this July. No matter what happens I am honored to have this opportunity to speak upon my platform on a state level and look forward to what the future holds. God Bless our Garden State!!!!!

It was reported that some homeowners received as little as $8,000, while others received as much as $29,000 even with the same amount of damage.

It was a beautiful day in Highlands, New Jersey. I had a wonderful time supporting my hometown for Comcast Cares Day and the ground breaking of The Sandy Ground: Where Angels Play. This playground is located at Veteran’s Park, celebrating the life of Daniel Barden. Daniel was one of the 20 beautiful children at Sandy Hook Elementary taken from us too soon. Here is a video of Daniel singing. My heart goes out to all the families affected by this horrific tragedy.
As Mrs. Highlands U.S., I was honored to share an interview with the Today Show in reference to my platform, “Restoring The Shore: Hope For Highlands”, my community and the upcoming Mrs. New Jersey United States pageant. It was great to see my small community come together, supporting one another during this difficult time. This has only made up stronger than ever! We are Jersey Strong, God Bless!!! ♥

It was an honor to be a part of the Hometown Heroes special event benefiting Hurricane Sandy victims. As Mrs. Highlands United States 2013, a current contestant in the Mrs. New Jersey United States pageant, I am devoting my undivided attention to bring awareness and assistance to our Garden State after Hurricane Sandy. To this day, many are still struggling trying to rebuild and get back into their homes. As Mrs. Highlands United States, I am proud to help Hometown Heroes Restore the Shore in helping my home state get back on their feet in any way that I can.
This special event consisted of 42 business sponsors from both Monmouth & Ocean Counties!!! Every attendee received a Jersey Shore Premium Outlet bag filled with goodies. It was great to see so many business owners and residents join together to help one another during this difficult time.
