So early this morning I went to Shore Results for my second body composition. I am definitely heading in the right direction and one step closer to my weight-loss goal. The main area that I still have to focus on which goes without saying is my trunk. Granted I can now fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans, but my ultimate goal is to tone and tighten my mid section more.
I started this program the first week of April and so far I am losing about a pound a week. Getting back to my preg-pregnancy weight sounds easier than it really is. Any core related workouts exhaust me beyond belief but I am slowly building up those core muscles again. After all it took 9 months to gain the weight in my trunk so losing a pound a week and already fitting into my pre-pregnancy pants is a great accomplishment and a step in the right direction.
Phase two of my baby bounce back program has been really kicking my butt. Deadlifts, kettlebell squats, get ups, OH MY!!! I use to do these workouts like a champ before I was pregnant and now I tend to struggle especially with anything that involves my core which is almost every workout that I do.
Besides my physical struggles, another struggle I have are my meals for the week. Breakfast is my favorite meal to make because it’s quick, easy and because sometimes my daughter is still sleeping while I am making breakfast at 7:00 a.m. Plus I could never get bored of my eggs with spinach, mushrooms or my protein shake. As for the rest of my meals I tend to get bored or sometimes I don’t have the time to prep. When you are dieting you either get so bored of the foods you eat or don’t have the time to prepare especially if you have a baby as my daughter is my #1 priority. So my saving grace lately has been the crockpot. Taking care of my little princess who does not like naps and does not sleep through the night yet while also taking care of all the housework on my own and on top of being a full-time mommy, career woman, wife, finding time to do my program which is usually really early in the morning or after one of my spin classes does tend to beat me up at times. Everything definitely seems like a lot of work and can feel very overwhelming. There will be times you feel like giving up, I have. I just remind myself that it is so easy to just give up and say the hell with it. The real challenge is staying focused and maintaining what you’ve worked so hard to achieve. Keep pushing yourself, no one is going to do it for you. “Never give up because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyways.”
